This newly designed hook features a curved short shank paired with a straight-eye geometry. In size 18, the straight eye creates a noticeably open gape on the smallest sizes, helping with balanced presentation and clean hook engagement as you fish. The 2488H is the heavier wire variant of the familiar 2488, preserving the compact feel while boosting durability for precise tying and field use. The bronze finish adds a traditional look and extra corrosion resistance in mixed water conditions.

Core attributes at a glance

Nymph, Shrimp & Caddis Pupa compatibility

Straight Eye for an open gape on small sizes

3X Wide for added clearance and strength

2X Short curved shank keeps patterns compact

2X Heavy bronze wire delivers durability with a classic finish

Why anglers reach for the 2488H

This heavier wire version of the 2488 maintains a compact profile while offering enhanced strength for small flies.
