Camping Gear: Packed Sizes and Kit Contents

Start with three checks: the space your equipment takes in transit, the space it needs when opened, and the parts supplied with it. These six examples cover shelter, bedding, seating and a camp kitchen. Choose each item around your own layout and packing list.

1. Check packed size before loading the car

Measure your storage opening as well as the space behind it. Keep long bags accessible if you expect to unload shelter or seating first, and allow room to grip and remove them.

2. Plan the space equipment occupies at camp

The MegaMat Duo Queen measures 203 × 152 × 10 cm when opened. Compare its length and width with the usable sleeping area of your chosen shelter, then allow for bags and access to the door. A tent’s person count alone does not establish mattress fit. Use the tent finder to shortlist shelters and check the individual dimensions before pairing them with bedding.

The Camp Chef Sherpa MSTAB has a 27 × 17 in tabletop and reaches 28 in high with its legs extended, according to its exact-model catalogue record. 3. Match the box contents to your packing list

  • Clostnature ZP-001: the matched listing and manufacturer page specify the tent body, rainfly, carry bag, two aluminium poles, four ropes, fourteen stakes and a pole repair kit. Count the pitching parts before departure.
  • MegaMat Duo Queen: EXPED lists the mat, Sidewinder bag, repair kit and Top-Up Pump. Keep the pump with the mat when you pack.
  • Helinox Sunset Chair: the selected chair includes its zippered carry bag. Decide separately whether you want an additional pillow; the headrest arrangement can also hold a soft item you already carry.
  • Sherpa MSTAB: four removable storage bags and the roll-top aluminium surface provide separate places for meal-preparation gear. Assign the bags to your own utensils and ingredients before loading them.

A standalone stove and a kitchen set have different contents

The nCamp standalone wood stove has a folding combustion chamber; its matched catalogue listing specifies that the carry case is sold separately. It suits a packing list where you already have your chosen food-preparation and coffee equipment.

The nCamp Kitchen-to-Go five-piece set lists five components: stove, elevated bamboo prep surface, Café coffee maker, gas adapter and carry case. Compare that inventory with what you already own to avoid buying a second prep surface or coffee maker. The Café has folding handles and a nesting cup.

Check the fuel and adapter requirements in the instructions for your exact stove before buying supplies. Use cooking equipment outdoors according to those instructions.

Build your final packing list

Write down the selected model, packed measurements and supplied parts for each item. Add the personal bedding, food, utensils and other supplies your trip needs.
