Description
Overview
The SPRO BBZ-1 Rat 25 White is a premium surface lure from SPRO, brought to you by 13 FISHING. After two years of testing and refinement by SPRO pro-staffer and lure designer Bill Siemantel, this imitation rat aims to mimic the look and motion of a real rat skimming the water. Its compact 25-size silhouette offers a balanced profile that remains inviting without overwhelming lighter tackle, making it a versatile option for surface presentations.
Design and action
Crafted with a single-jointed rodent profile and a sturdy square bill, the BBZ-1 Rat 25 White delivers an effortless walk-the-dog action paired with a gentle wake that stays close to the surface. The combination of realism and controlled movement creates an appealing cue that can attract attention at the edge of cover or along a shoreline.
- Lifelike realism with a carefully shaped profile
- Single-jointed design for natural, erratic movement
- Durable square bill for stable tracking and depth control
- Walk-the-dog action plus a subtle surface wake
Real-world use and targets
Users report the BBZ-1 Rat 25 White performing well when the goal is a surface presentation that can provoke strikes from surface-feeding predators. The 25-size ensures a noticeable yet manageable lure that pairs well with common casting setups, especially in areas near structure or weed edges.
- Effective near structure, weed edges, and shoreline ambush zones
- Versatile enough for a range of tackle configurations
