BearVault BV450 Jaunt Portable Bear Canister - Medium | Lightweight, Bear-Resistant Food Storage

The BearVault BV450 Jaunt is a medium-sized bear canister designed for backpackers who want reliable food storage without adding unnecessary weight. It fits a weekend for two or several days solo, while remaining compact enough for smaller packs. With a capacity to hold 3–4 days of camping meals, it helps you plan meals and snacks with a clear, organized setup while you focus on the trail ahead.

Effortless access and clear organization on the go

Thanks to a wide opening and a transparent body, you can spot your oatmeal, trail mix, and dinner at a glance. This makes it easier to grab what you need without rummaging through a pile of gear, keeping your break times efficient and focused on the experience rather than the setup.

• Medium size balances packability with interior space for multiple days of food.
• 3–4 days of camping food capacity supports medium-length trips without overpacking.

Designed for ease, durability, and versatility

Open and close the lid with tool-free simplicity, so you’re not fiddling with small parts on the trail. The canister is rugged and impact resistant, yet lightweight, helping you move quickly between stops and keep moving when you want to push farther each day. It can also double as a compact camp stool if you need a quick, stable seat during a break.

• Tool-free lid for fast, reliable access after long hikes.
• Rugged construction combines durability with a light overall feel.
• Can double as a stable camp stool for a quick rest or meal break.

Proven safety standards and park approvals

Safety against wildlife is a core focus. The BV450 Jaunt is tested and approved as bear resistant by Grizzly (IGBC) and Black Bear (SIBBG) groups. It’s also accepted by National Parks and Forest Service agencies that require portable bear-proof food storage, including popular destinations like Yosemite, Sequoia Kings Canyon, and Olympic National Parks.

• IGBC and SIBBG bear resistance testing demonstrate reliability in bear country.
• Agency-approved storage for use in parks with bear-proof requirements.
• Ideal for weekend escapes or multi-day treks where food security matters.

In everyday use, campers appreciate how the BV450 Jaunt keeps food secure during camp setup, cooking, and exploration. Its clear interior supports quick inventory between meal prep, while the compact footprint helps it fit alongside other essential gear in smaller packs.
