Coghlan's Tent Seam Sealer – 2 oz Waterproof Sealant for Nylon & Synthetic Fabrics

Overview

Coghlan's Tent Seam Sealer is a compact, 2 oz waterproofing solution designed to protect sewn seams on nylon and other synthetic outdoor fabrics. The bottle is easy to carry on trips, and the formula dries to a flexible finish that helps keep gear dry in varying conditions. The sealer is colorless, washable, and can be cleaned using standard laundry methods after sealing.

Why it matters for your gear

When camping, climbing, or traveling in damp environments, sealed seams help reduce drafts and minimize moisture intrusion. A clear, flexible coating offers protection without altering the look of your tents, rainwear, or backpacks.

What it protects

• Tents and rainfly seams
• Rainwear, jackets, and backpacks
• Other gear made from nylon or synthetic fabrics

Key benefits

• Easy-to-use applicator for waterproofing sewn seams on nylon and other synthetic outdoor fabrics
• Colorless, flexible finish that remains nearly invisible on fabrics
• Washable and dry-cleanable for simple upkeep

Finish and drying time

Apply a thin, even layer and allow 4–6 hours to dry to the touch. Once cured, the seal remains flexible and can be washed without harming the treated seams.

Tips for best results

• Ensure seams are clean and dry before applying
• Apply evenly along the stitched line for a uniform seal
• Use in moderate airflow environments to aid drying

Real-world use

Whether you’re setting up in light rain or just preparing gear for a damp forecast, Coghlan's Tent Seam Sealer offers a practical way to extend the life of fabric seams. The 2 oz bottle is designed to fit into a daypack or gear bag, giving you a reliable option to refresh seams between trips. The colorless finish helps keep your equipment looking new while maintaining fabric flexibility for folding, rolling, or packing after a trip.
