Description
Overview
The CURADO MGL 70 K from SHIMANO blends rugged durability with refined casting performance. Built for anglers who demand power, precision, and reliability, this reel brings flagship technology into a compact, versatile design that scales from finesse rigs to bigger lure applications.
Built for strength and power
The HAGANE Body delivers high rigidity and impact resistance. By minimizing flex under pressure, your cranking input translates more efficiently into line movement, helping you stay in control during tough retrieves and long days on the water.
Cast farther with MagnumLite Spool
The MagnumLite spool reduces moment of inertia by about 10 percent, which translates to longer casts and improved accuracy across a wider lure range. You can test a variety of lures with easier, more consistent starts.
Smoother gear engagement with MicroModule
MicroModule gear uses more contact points between drive gear and pinion gear. The result is a smoother retrieve with less gear feel and a more efficient gear train through every turn of the handle.
Precise braking with SVS Infinity
SVS Infinity is Shimano's dynamic brake system that provides easy to manage, consistent spool control. The external knob lets you fine tune braking for lighter lures or changing conditions, helping keep your casts reliable.
Lightweight yet rigid with CI4+ side plate
The CI4+ side plate brings a lighter overall profile while maintaining rigidity. The material choice contributes to a balanced feel that helps you stay precise for extended sessions.
Key reasons anglers consider the CURADO MGL 70 K:
- Sturdy HAGANE Body supports aggressive retrieves and durable builds
- MagnumLite Spool extends cast distance and accuracy
- MicroModule Gear delivers silent, quick, efficient retrieves
- SVS Infinity braking provides cast control with adjustable action
- CI4+ side plate reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity
Real-world use cases
From windy flats to clear river runs, this reel adapts to varied scenarios. Expect a responsive feel, crisp gear engagement, and the ability to experiment with different lure types while maintaining control.
What you gain on the water
- Enhanced casting distance and placement with diverse lures
- Effortless and smooth retrieves that reduce fatigue
- Reliable brake control for consistent casts
- Lightweight balance for comfortable all-day fishing
