Description
Introducing the DAIWA 23 NINJA LT5000-C, a front-drag spinning reel designed for anglers who chase balance, sensitivity, and long stretches of smooth retrieval on the water. Built on Daiwa's LT philosophy, this reel uses advanced lightweight materials to keep weight low without sacrificing strength.
The LT5000-C stands out in cast control and line management, pairing a refined Airdrive rotor with a robust Digigear transmission. This combo helps you feel more of the lure’s action and respond quickly to bites, while maintaining crisp gear feel over time.
Core technologies that matter
- Airdrive design and Airdrive rotor for improved balance and sensitivity
- TOUGH DIGIGEAR for high recovery force and smooth, quiet operation
- ATD Type-L brake system for smoother line release under load and safer casting
- Longcast ABS aluminum spool with an optimized edge for reduced friction
- Twistbuster III Roller to avoid line twist when winding braided line
- MagSealed Twist Buster Roller for durability and reliability
- Aluminum crank and lightweight construction
Performance in the field
Weighing around 270 grams, the LT5000-C is built to help you fish longer with less fatigue. It offers a 12 kg (26.5 lb) front drag and a compact 5.2:1 gear ratio, delivering steady retrieves as you work a lure through structure or into open water.
- Line capacity: 150 meters of 0.37 mm mono line
- Line retrieval per turn: about 87 cm (34.3 inches)
- 4 ball bearings for smooth operation
Designed for casting efficiency, the spool edge and the use of ABS aluminum reduce friction, helping you achieve longer casts with less effort while the Twist Buster helps preserve braided line’s integrity. The front-drag setup gives you precise control during a fight, with the brake system tuned to release smoothly under load.
What it can feel like on-water
Expect a reel with immediate bite detection via its high-sensitivity frame, responsive drag, and dependable performance in varied conditions. While no reel guarantees results, many anglers find the Ninja LT LT5000-C to pair well with mid-range rods for versatile freshwater or light saltwater applications.
