Dokken Dead Fowl Green Wing Teal Retriever Trainer - Scent-Injectable Floating Decoy

Bring realistic field training to your retriever

During hunting season, your dog will be working with live birds in the field. For practice, you can use the Dokken Dead Fowl Green Wing Teal trainer to simulate a downed bird with a life-like appearance and feel. The soft, durable foam body is scent-injectable, giving you the option to introduce a natural odor that some dogs respond to during training. It weighs about the same as a real bird, helping your dog learn balance and grip without surprises in the field.

What makes this trainer effective in real-world training

Designed to resist the tug of enthusiastic retrieves, the head and feet are constructed from hard material to deter grabbing in places you don’t want. The lifelike flop of the head adds an element that discourages excessive shaking, promoting steadier holds as your dog carries the prey back to you. The overall form is sized to approximate a real downed Green Wing Teal, measuring 12 inches by 3-1/2 inches.

• Dead Fowl Greenwing Teal—replica appearance to closely mimic a real bird
• Dokken T200—built to the Dokken training standard for consistent performance
• Scent Injectable—option to introduce a natural odor for added realism
• Floats in water—excellent for practicing water retrieves
• Measures 12 inches x 3-1/2 inches—compact, field-ready size

Practical training ideas and scenarios

In the field, use the trainer on land to rehearse grip, carry, and steady retrieves. In water, its buoyancy supports simple fetch drills that help your dog learn transitions between land and water. The combination of a soft body and durable features makes it a reliable stand-in for practice when live birds aren’t convenient.

• Simulate live-bird retrieves with consistent form and weight
• Support scent-marked drills by injecting odor at different intensities
• Pair with your Dokken T200 to create varied training sequences

Notes on use and care

Store in a dry place and inspect the foam body for wear after rugged sessions. Replace when the head or feet show signs of compromise to maintain the intended feel and balance during training.
