Description
Overview
Meet the Jetboil CrunchIt Fuel Canister Recycling Tool, a compact companion for responsible campers and outdoor cooks. Designed to manage JetPower propane/isobutane canisters and similar cylinders, it helps you prepare spent canisters for recycling while you wrap up a trip.
Why this matters
Disposing of used fuel canisters safely can be challenging after a long day outdoors. This tool is built to be safe and compliant, reducing guesswork when you need to recycle metal cylinders that powered your stove or lantern. The CrunchIt blends practical engineering with rugged outdoor usability so you can tidy up without fumbling for multiple tools.
What makes it special
- Recycling-ready puncture tool: pierces JetPower and compatible butane cylinders, prepping them for curbside recovery
- Built in venting: an integrated venting mechanism releases residual gas before puncturing, helping you proceed with confidence
- Added conveniences: includes a built in bottle opener and a clip slot for a carabiner or key ring
- Durable and lightweight: rugged stainless steel construction stands up to outdoor use and travels easily
- Compact size: about 1.4 by 3 inches and weighs around 1 ounce, so it fits neatly in a pack pocket
Usage and practicality
In the field, keep the CrunchIt handy near the cooking area. After your meal, safely vent and puncture the spent canister following local guidelines, then place the emptied can into the recycling stream. The built in features help you complete the process without switching tools.
- What you’ll notice in practice: a simpler routine, less clutter, and a straightforward path to recycling
- Real world scenarios: car campers, hikers relying on JetPower canisters, and backcountry cooks
