Northland Tackle UV Buck-Shot Ice Fishing Rattle Spoon – UV Purple Tiger, 1/16 oz

A time-tested ice fishing spoon with modern flair

The Northland UV Buck-Shot Spoon is a compact, proven jigging spoon designed for ice fishing and open-water jigging alike. At 1/16 oz, it presents a nimble, easy-to-control profile that allows you to explore strike zones without overpowering a wary fish. Its compact weight makes presentation versatile across water conditions, helping you cover more water with confidence.

A brass Buck Shot rattle delivers a sharp, lingering tone that travels through the water and into the strike zone, helping fish locate the lure even when visibility is limited. The holographic baitfish image body shimmers as it moves, catching ambient light from multiple angles and creating a lively, convincing silhouette that can trigger curiosity and bites.

Color, shine, and range you can rely on

The UV Purple Tiger finish adds glow and high-contrast visibility, standing out in dim light or stained water. Northland offers this lure in a broad palette: 24 colors and six sizes, giving you the flexibility to match water clarity, lighting, and local forage. Whether you’re chasing walleye under a cloudy sky or targeting panfish near weedlines, there’s a combination that can suit your water and mood.

Real-world use and species versatility

In practice, anglers rely on the Buck-Shot Spoon as an ice-fishing workhorse and as a versatile minnow imitator when jigged vertically. Results can vary with conditions, but many report bites from walleye, perch, trout, bluegill, crappie, and other freshwater species when the cadence is dialed in. The lure’s design blends light weight with substantial flash, creating an appealing target in a range of environments.

Design, durability, and how to use

Designed for longevity, this spoon is molded from metal with a compact silhouette that tracks predictably on a line. The combination of rattle, reflective finish, and color options is intended to provide consistent signaling under a variety of light levels and water colors. Use the spoon with a light jig head and a lift-and-drop cadence to let it flutter and rattle, then adjust depth and speed to locate the active layer.
