Outdoor Research Bug Bivy – Lightweight Insect-Proof Shelter (Black, 1 Size)

Ultralight insect protection for backpacking and travel

The Bug Bivy from Outdoor Research is a purpose-built shelter that helps you rest without disturbance. A single pole elevates the mesh away from your face, creating a breathable space that enables comfortable air exchange as night air settles. The full-length zipper seals out mosquitoes and other small insects, reducing the chance of waking to nuisance bites or sounds. A waterproof floor adds a last line of defense against damp ground, helping your sleeping surface stay dry through light dew or sprinkles.

Designed for rugged use, this bivy is built to withstand the demands of outdoor adventures. It suits minimalist hikers, weekend travelers, and spontaneous overnight trips where shelter needs to be light, compact, and reliable. When it’s time to pack, the bivy folds down small and slips into a backpack without adding noticeable bulk. It pairs well with a compact sleeping bag and a simple groundsheet for a low-profile, ready-to-go sleep solution.
