Description
Meet the Petromax Camping Tripod Lashing Set (Large)
Turn nature into your cooking and shelter space with a simple, portable frame. The Petromax Tripod Lashing Set provides a lightweight stainless steel disc as the base for a self-made branch tripod. Gather three on-site branches up to 2.1 inches in diameter, thread them through the opening, and twist the lashing to secure a stable tripod. Whether you0re simmering a Dutch Oven over glowing coals or setting up a quick shelter between trees, this compact kit is designed to travel light and perform when you need it most.
What you get
- A stainless steel lashing disc (base frame)
- Two zinc-plated hooks
- Chain for adjustable height and heat control
Originating in Germany, the set is built to endure outdoor conditions while remaining surprisingly portable. The total length with hook and chain is 31.5 inches, and the entire pack weighs about 1.4 pounds, with the lashing disc itself weighing roughly half a pound. This makes it easy to stash in a rucksack or daypack for quick setups at the edge of the forest or beside a riverbank.
How it works
As a flexible tripod system, you can create your own stand using branches found on-site. The disc acts as the hub, and you0ll hang your cookware or lantern via the two hooks and chain. Heat control is as simple as adjusting the chain length, letting you dial in a gentle simmer or a more vigorous boil without fumbling for additional gear.
Versatile uses you might enjoy
- Cooking: Hang a Dutch Oven or kettle and monitor the cooking pace with chain length
- Shelter: Use the lashing to anchor a stable tripod shelter on firm ground
- Gear hang: Drape a lantern, coat, or bag from the hooks for easy access
Durability and portability
The kit is crafted from stainless steel and zinc-plated steel, designed to resist the rigors of camping environments. The compact form and light weight mean you can carry it in a pack, set it up in minutes, and strike camp without leaving a mess behind. Its simple, modular concept aligns with bushcraft principles, offering a dependable way to turn natural resources into usable space.
