Description
Rab Men's Downpour Jacket: Lightweight, Waterproof, and Ready for Rainy Trails
When your plans hinge on passing storms, this jacket is designed to keep you comfortable and moving. The Downpour blends a featherweight shell with serious weather protection in an army colorway, making it a practical choice for hikers, travelers, and daily rain days.
Engineered for wet conditions, it pairs a minimal silhouette with robust protection so you can focus on the trail, the route, or the next checkpoint rather than the weather. Its compact build invites easy packing, while the fabric and construction balance durability with comfort for longer adventures.
Why it stands up to wet conditions
- Pertex Shield 2.5‑Layer membrane delivers strong water resistance while staying exceptionally thin and light.
- Waterproof rating of 20,000 mm and breathability of 20,000 g/m² help keep moisture out and heat away from your body when you push uphill or move fast.
- 50D 100% recycled polyester shell with fluorocarbon-free DWR supports eco-conscious gear choices without compromising weather protection.
- Regular fit offers easy layering and simple on/off as showers arrive or pass.
- Ventilating zippers under each sleeve boost airflow; the hood is two-way, single-handed, with a stiff peak for solid coverage.
- Zippered hand pockets with storm guards help keep essentials dry in drizzly conditions.
- Extremely waterproof, breathable, and packable—the jacket folds small for lightweight travel and day trips.
Practical, real‑world use
On a misty ridge, in a sudden downpour during a city rooftop stroll, or while navigating travel hubs, the Downpour Jacket offers reliable rain protection without adding bulk. It layers well over a fleece or light midlayer, and the hood stays secure through gusts while you move.
The recycled polyester construction and fluorocarbon-free DWR finish align with thoughtful gear choices for wet environments. The jacket’s compact, packable nature makes it a convenient carry for day trips, commutes, or weekend treks where weather might shift.
