Description
All-Mountain warmth in a compact, packable package
The Rab Electron Pro 800-Fill Down Hooded Jacket is designed as a versatile midweight layer for alpine missions. Its ultralight loft and hydrophobic finish help keep warmth efficient, while a windproof Pertex Quantum Pro shell helps you stay comfortable on exposed ridgelines. This jacket pairs well with shells and shells with hoods, offering breathable warmth without bulk.
Key features at a glance
- All-Mountain Jacket: Midweight warmth for year-round mountainous pursuits
- 800-Fill Hydrophobic Down: Ultralight loft with moisture protection for chilly climbs
- Pertex Quantum Pro Shell: Windproof, downproof fabric with strong water resistance
- Alpine-Ready Design: Regular fit with midi/micro baffle stitching for mobility; helmet-compatible hood with a stiffened peak; adjustable hem; two-way YKK Natulon zipper
- Materials & Sustainability: 100% recycled nylon outer and lining; Grangers fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish
- Specs to know: 16.8 oz (Medium); center back length 30.3 in; 100% recycled nylon construction
Real-world warmth and protection
- Wind-shedding warmth: A balanced midweight layer that sits close to the body for efficient layering under a shell on windy days
- Moisture-conscious insulation: Hydrophobic down helps maintain loft when temperatures dip and humidity is present
- Secure, adaptable fit: Regular cut with alpine-ready features enables freedom of movement during climbs and transitions
- Helmet-ready hood: A stiffened peak keeps rain and snow off your line of sight while you move
Designed with sustainability in mind, the Electron Pro uses recycled materials and a fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish, aligning practical warmth with responsible choices. While it offers substantial warmth and protection, this jacket is best viewed as a reliable midlayer or outer warmth piece in cold, dry-to-dusty conditions, rather than a primary rain shell.
Why climbers may choose the Electron Pro
From belay transitions to summit pushes, the combination of warmth, mobility, and weather resistance supports a wide range of mountain routines. The jacket’s compact weight makes it easy to stow when the weather holds, yet substantial enough to keep you comfortable during long approaches and chilly descents.
