Description
Overview
The Rapala Jigging Rap in Purple Shades is a compact 2-inch vertical jigging lure designed to excel in cold-water jigging and open-water presentations. Its balanced profile is built to dart and glide with controlled movements, inviting bites from walleye, pike, perch, and lake trout. Crafted with real-world anglers in mind, this lure blends a proven action with a weight that supports fast drops and deep-water control.
Why anglers reach for the Jigging Rap
- Vertical jigging action that darts and glides to trigger bites
- Ice fishing ready for hardwater jigging and open-water vertical presentations
- Weighted body for rapid drops into deep water and current-prone zones
- Proven multi-species versatility for winter and year-round jigging success
How to use it
On the ice, drop the lure through a hole and work it with controlled hops to imitate an injured forage. In open water, cast or vertical drop along structure, pausing briefly to entice a strike from ambush predators.
- Depth control through varied retrieves and deliberate stops
- Purple Shades enhances visibility in stained or clear water
- Rugged construction suited for cold-water fishing and repeated drops
With its 2-inch body length and 5/16 oz weight, the Jigging Rap is light enough for precise handling yet substantial enough to reach target zones quickly. Color contrast and profile are designed to help attract attention in challenging conditions, while the lure’s geometry supports a natural, inviting motion. While results depend on technique and conditions, this lure offers a versatile option for anglers pursuing multiple species across seasons.
