Description
Meet the Rapala TWR12 Twitching Wrap, a compact glide bait designed to deliver a lively, twitching trace that can tempt predatory fish. This lure represents a new type of glide bait, pairing a quick, reactive wind with a realistic glide that invites a moment of uncertainty before the next motion. The result is a versatile tool you can adapt to different water colors and cover, offering a balance of action and control when precision matters.
The balsa body provides buoyancy and a natural silhouette in the water, while the slow sinking profile helps you manage depth without abrupt drops. Together, these characteristics support a retrieve that can stay in the strike zone longer and respond to your pace with a distinctive twitching rhythm.
Key features
- Total Length: 4.7 inches (12 cm)
- Weight: 1.9 oz (53 g)
- Body: Balsa wood
- Type: Slow sinking

What makes it different in the water
The twitching action triggers a lifelike wobble that can entice strikes, while the glide behavior lets the lure shift direction during retrieval. Long casts with reduced resistance help you cover more water and maintain a steady, controllable presentation across varying depths.
The flat side body design is recommended for use with shabby patterns, helping the lure align with color patterns and lighting in a way that feels natural to fish in diverse conditions.
Usage and scenarios
- Best suited for freshwater environments where a compact, reactive lure can prompt a predatory response.
- Good for anglers who want a balance between depth control and responsive action during retrieves.
How to fish it
- Cast beyond structure, then wind in at a controlled pace to establish the glide.
- Incorporate short pauses and twitch bursts to awaken the lure’s action.
- Mix steady retrieves with occasional twitches to imitate a fleeing baitfish.
