Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 Glass Ghost - Premium Jerkbait Lure

Meet the Rapala X-Rap Magnum 40 Glass Ghost

The X-Rap Magnum 40 Glass Ghost is a larger, hard-bodied jerkbait designed for serious predator fishing. Its translucent Glass Ghost finish catches ambient light and creates a lifelike silhouette that can grab attention from a distance, especially in clear or lightly stained water.

Color, size, and presence

With a Magnum 40 profile, this lure delivers a bold visual presence without feeling unwieldy. The Glass Ghost color uses a translucent, reflective palette to mimic natural bait under sun or moonlight, helping the lure remain visible across varying depths.

• Large 40 mm body provides a noticeable target for bigger fish.
• Translucent Glass Ghost finish offers a realistic shimmer in different lighting.
• Durable hard-body construction stands up to strong strikes and occasional snagging.
• Versatile design for casting, trolling, and deep-water retrieves.
• Created with Rapala’s precision engineering for smooth action and reliable performance.

How to use

Try a mix of retrieves to discover what triggers bites on any given day. The X-Rap Magnum 40 responds well to steady pulls, short jerks, and deliberate pauses, allowing you to target different depths and cover a range of water conditions.

• Cast toward structure edges, weed lines, and drop-offs where larger predators feed.
• Vary speed and pausing to provoke lifelike reactions from fish.
• Keep the rod tip at a moderate height to maintain the lure’s depth and action.

Real-world scenarios

In clear lakes during peak seasons, the Glass Ghost color can come alive under natural light, catching the eye of passing fish. In rivers or stained water, the Magnum’s bold profile helps maintain presence against darker backgrounds.

Note: color, size, and presentation can influence results, but technique, water clarity, and fish behavior also play a key role.
