Region Fishing Bead Head Flash Back Pheasant Tail Mayfly Nymph Flies on Mustad Signature Hooks - 12 Flies (Hook 14)

Versatile bead head nymph for a broad hatch

Designed to resemble a range of aquatic nymphs, this bead head flash back pheasant tail pattern captures the silhouette and movement that trout and panfish often key on. Its impressionistic approach means it can represent mayflies, stoneflies, and caddis nymphs, giving you a flexible option when the hatch is uncertain. Tied with care on Mustad Signature hooks, the pattern balances flash, durability, and realism without relying on color alone.

What’s included and how to match the hatch

• Size options: choose #12, #14, #16, or #18, or opt for the 12-fly assortment with 3 flies per size to match the hatch.
• Proven pattern: a classic nymph that anglers have trusted for decades, with thousands tied each year.
• Durable construction: copper ribbing, whip finishing, and a coat of head cement help these flies stay in action after casts and catches.
• Premium materials: Mustad Signature hooks provide sharpness and strength, crafted for long-term performance.
• Region Fishing guarantee: if you’re unhappy with quality or durability, we’ll make it right.

In the water, the bead head creates a subtle buoyant lift, while the flash back adds a glint that helps the pattern catch a fish’s eye in varying light. The pheasant tail fibers mimic natural body segments, and the overall profile remains compact and streamlined for efficient sinking as a nymph or sub-surface attractor.

Materials and craftsmanship

• Durability first: expert tiers assemble flies with copper ribbing, precise whip finishes, and reliable head cement.
• Reliable hardware: Mustad Signature hooks feature a micro barb that can be pinched down for barbless use, with a bronze finish and high carbon steel construction.

Whether you’re fishing a slow glide, a rapid run, or a deeper pool, this pattern offers a versatile option that adapts to different angling situations. Its timeless design, combined with modern materials, gives you a dependable tool for trout and panfish alike.

How to use

Try as a top nymph when you’re unsure what the hatch is doing, or as a bottom nymph to present a natural forage profile. In open-water scenarios, its flash and form can entice strikes from wary fish without overpowering the bite.
