Description

Region Fishing Tungsten Bead Head San Juan Worm Flies

Take on the river with a trusted nymphing option designed to sink with purpose and drift smoothly in fast or slower currents. Each fly is hand-tied by seasoned professionals and mounted on Mustad Signature hooks, engineered for durability and reliable hooksets across a range of water conditions.

What you get

  • 12 premium San Juan Worm flies in a color mix: Brown, Red, and Pink
  • Size 14 hooks on Mustad Signature Fly Hooks for consistent performance
  • Tungsten bead head to promote a steady, controlled sink and depth reach

Why the design matters

  • Kirbed hook point supports easy hooksets and strong holding power
  • 2X short shank and 2X extra heavy wire enhance durability for river species
  • Bronze finish, chemically sharpened, Nor-Tempered high carbon steel for reliable use
  • Micro barb can be pinched down for barbless applications while keeping the fly intact
  • Premium materials and precise tying deliver consistent presentation time after time

In practice

  • Use as the first fly in a tandem nymphing rig to explore feeding lanes
  • Can be fished solo or as a dropper in a multi-fly setup
  • Color variety helps match water color and hatch mood for more natural drifts

Real-world use tips emphasize feel and timing: allow the bead to settle into the bottom hold, then follow the line for subtle takes as fish move through the current. The hand-tied construction aims to hold up longer than cheaper alternatives when casting through riffles, slow runs, and back eddies. While results depend on conditions and technique, this kit provides a versatile, durable option for anglers looking to cover water efficiently and adjust quickly to changing flows.

Durability and care

Professionally tied flies offer a sturdy balance between strength and finesse. When handled with care, these flies endure multiple casts and retrieves, helping you stay on the water longer without frequent re-rigging.
