RIO Premier Flats Clear Floater Tropical Series — Clear Tip, 100 ft, #8

Overview

RIO Premier Flats Clear Floater is engineered for stealthy presentations on saltwater flats. Its full clear body paired with a 6 ft clear tip—powered by gin-clear technology—creates a line that’s nearly invisible in shallow water. This design can help you present flies closer to wary fish while reducing the need for long, cumbersome leaders.

Whether you’re stalking Permit, Bonefish, or other skinny-water gamefish, this line aims to balance visibility, control, and casting efficiency. The Tropical Series head color also offers a subtle point of reference for tracking your fly during retrieves, helping you maintain a precise rhythm across the water.

Stealth and tracking

The combination of a fully clear body and a seafoam head behind the 6 ft tip supports a low-profile presentation. Anglers often find this setup helpful for keeping the line from scaring wary fish, while still allowing you to monitor the fly’s path during a steady retrieve.

Easy casting with the Flats Pro taper

The Flats Pro taper marries a mid-length head with a short, powerful front taper, designed to handle typical saltwater flats flies. This geometry makes quick casts to moving fish easier and also enables longer shots when targets are farther away on the flats.

Included extras and care

Inside the box you’ll find two RIO Fly Line Cleaning Towelettes. Regular line maintenance can help preserve smooth casting and line performance, especially after long days on the water in varied conditions.

Heritage and innovation

With more than two decades of fly line development, RIO continues to refine performance for anglers who value consistency and field-tested design. The Premier Flats Clear Floater reflects this ongoing commitment to quality and practical ourdoor usability.

On-water use and scenarios

• Ideal for wary bonefish, permit, and other skinny-water species where stealth matters.
• Helpful for presenting flies close to targets in clear water, near mangroves, and along shorelines.
• Versatile enough for quick, accurate casts and longer shots when a distant fish requires reach.

Note: Benefits described are possible outcomes based on line design and typical fishing scenarios. Results may vary with conditions, technique, and target species.
