Description
Overview
The Absolute Trout Supreme Tippet from Scientific Anglers is a premium 100% fluorocarbon tippet designed for stealthy, precise presentations in clear water trout streams. Its distinctive two layer construction blends a soft outer fluorocarbon with a harder core, engineered to help knots seat reliably while offering strong performance under pressure.
Compared with many fluorocarbon options, this tippet remains unusually supple, contributing to drag free drifts and a more natural presentation that can help you approach wary fish without alerting them to your presence.
Two layer design for strength and sensitivity
- Soft outer layer improves knot seating and increases knot strength
- Hard inner core provides high tensile strength for longer casts and hooks
Supple stealthy performance
- Suppleness supports drag free drifts in calm water and light currents
- Low visibility helps maintain a stealthy footprint across clear water
Field ready features
- Length is 30 meters on each spool across all sizes
- Sizes range from 7X to 0X to match a variety of fly sizes
- Patented cutter spool and improved tippet band simplify identification and dispensing
In the field these characteristics translate to a tippet designed for discerning trout and technical presentations. Whether you are casting to selective fish in spring creeks or guiding a long, delicate drift through tailwater runs, this tippet aims to support subtle line control and steady drifts. It is presented as a potential enhancement, not a guarantee, leaving room for individual technique and water conditions.
How it performs in different conditions
- Clear water and bright days benefit from the tippet’s stealthy profile
- Calm to light currents can see smoother, drag free drifts
- Cold water handling benefits from the soft outer layer’s knot seating flexibility
Practical tips
- Pair with light leaders for stealthy presentations
- Consider a spare spool to quickly switch sizes during a day on the water
