Scotty 180 lb HP Stainless Downrigger Cable – Black, 400 ft Spool

Premium 180 lb Downrigger Cable for Serious Trolling

Upgrade your downrigger setup with Scotty’s 180 lb HP stainless steel cable. This high‑performance line is built to withstand saltwater use while delivering dependable strength for heavier lures and deeper drops. The 400 ft spool provides ample length to position your lure where you want it, whether you’re chasing suspended bait, exploring structure, or pursuing deeper schools. The black coating minimizes glare on bright days and helps you monitor line movement as it exits the reel. This cable combines durability, length, and ease of use to form a solid foundation for a reliable trolling rig.

Durability and Smooth Performance

Durability is embedded in the stainless construction, offering corrosion resistance that stands up to repeated salty exposure and normal wear. The result is gear you can rely on season after season, even when you push tackle capacity. The cable feeds through downriggers and pulleys with a smooth surface, reducing resistance and helping maintain steady line tension as you adjust depth and speed. The overall package supports versatile fishing setups, from quick drops to long, steady retrieves.

What’s Included

To help you get started quickly, Scotty bundles a terminal fastening kit with the cable. The kit includes a Coast lock snap with swivel (No.1153), three sleeves, one soft stop bumper, and one stainless steel thimble. These components are chosen to complement the cable’s performance and provide a ready‑to‑fish setup without hunting for compatible parts.

Use cases range from longer drops to reach deeper zones to handling heavier lures with confidence. While results depend on tackle choices and water conditions, this combination offers practical options to adapt your rig for different fishing scenarios.
