Precision and power in a lightweight frame
Weighing about 175 g, this reel balances comfortably in hand. The 7.1:1 gear ratio delivers brisk line pickup, while a 5 kg maximum drag provides reserve for demanding retrieves. The reel's 76 cm maximum reel length per handle turn translates to efficient line handling.
- Gear Ratio: 7.1:1
- Max Drag: 5 kg
- Handle Length: 42 mm
- Weight: 175 g
- Spool Diameter/Width: 34/19 mm
Versatile line capacity and smooth operation
The Metanium 101HG uses 10 bearings plus 1 roller for a quiet, fluid feel and reliable durability. Line winding capacity varies by nylon line strength, giving you flexibility across techniques from light to medium setups.
- Nylon line capacity: 12-120, 14-100, 16-85, 20-70 lb-m
- Spool diameter/width: 34/19 mm
- Bearings: 10/1
On the water, the compact design and left-handed retrieve suit a range of presentation styles—nearshore jigging, finesse casts, and control-heavy retrieves—without sacrificing control or feel. The lightweight profile reduces fatigue during long sessions while maintaining solid line management when casting in variable conditions.
What this means for you
Possible benefits include precise line control for delicate presentations and enduring reliability across seasons. While results depend on conditions and technique, the Metanium 101HG offers a premium platform for those seeking smoothness, responsiveness, and confident handling.
