SHIMANO Chartwhite BT Bait 99F (BB99FCW) – Finesse Swimbait for Light Tackle

Meet the Shimano Chartwhite BT Bait 99F

Emerging from Shimano's Japanese testing grounds, the Chartwhite BT Bait 99F is built to perform in North American waters. The lure features a three-section hard body paired with a durable elastomer tail that delivers natural swimming action at any retrieve speed.

The lure leverages SCALE BOOST technology to achieve a lifelike finish that catches the eye in sunlit shallows and dim coves alike. This makes it a compelling option for finesse anglers who want to imitate a real forage fish with subtle, convincing detail.

Notable features at a glance

• SCALE BOOST for realism
• Durable elastomer tail included with three tails
• Two body profiles: sinking and floating models
• Length: 99 mm (3.9 inches)

How it fits finesse fishing

Designed with light spin setups and BFS finesse systems in mind, the BT Bait offers a lifelike swim that responds to moderate retrieves. Its multi jointed body and tail work together to recreate the cadence of a frightened baitfish, inviting inquiries from nearby predators.

Practical scenarios you might try

• Shallow flats and weed edges: long, steady retrieves to draw targeted bites
• Structure pockets and drop-offs: quick darts to provoke reaction strikes
• Slow finesse work: gentle pulls to emphasize tail thump and action

Two model variations expand depth options: the sinking model helps reach mid-water, while the floating model stays within the upper water column at slower retrieves. This gives you flexibility across water columns without changing lures.

Tips for best results

• Pair with a sensitive finesse rod and light line to feel the tail work
• Adjust retrieves to find the lure's natural tempo in your water
• Consider adding small weights to balance depth as needed

Note that performance can vary with water clarity, structure, and target species. Use the information above as a guide to explore the BT Bait's possibilities and tailor your approach to local conditions.
