Meet the High Route 1P, a three-season ultralight shelter designed by renowned thru-hiker and adventure guide Andrew Skurka. Weighing just 2 pounds 4 ounces, it packs down small and uses trekking poles as the frame, letting you leave bulky tent poles at home while keeping you protected on variable terrain.
The design offers three practical configurations to match trail conditions and personal preference: tarp-only for the lightest carry, inner-only for dry-weather nights, or a tarp with inner for complete enclosure when weather shifts.
Crafted with a lightweight 20D nylon bathtub floor and fly fabric, plus a 15D mesh inner for breathable airflow. The combination balances durability with a compact profile, helping you stay nimble on trail.
The inner tent offers about 16 square feet of usable space with a peak height near 40 inches. The fly provides 29 square feet of coverage and a peak around 45 inches, delivering a comfortable balance of headroom and weather protection.
Sierra Designs backs this shelter with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, reflecting confidence in its materials and stitching for the long haul.
Ideal for hikers who want flexibility on long trips, the High Route 1P adapts to changing weather, demanding terrains, and pack-light strategies. Its compact form helps you stay agile after a long day on the trail, whether you’re chasing alpine lakes or windy ridgelines.
