Silva Free M 2000 Lumen Headlamp | Ultralite Modular Light for Skiing & Trail Running | ISPO Award

Overview

Silva Free redefines portable lighting by delivering more light in a smaller, smoother, and more versatile headlamp. The Free 2000 M system pairs a bright 2000-lumen output with a modular design, integrating cables into the headband for a clean, distraction-free fit and optimized cooling for steady performance in tough conditions. This is the world’s first truly modular headlamp series, designed to adapt to your pace, terrain, and gear choices. Whether you’re chasing fast runs, carving through alpine trails, or tackling long adventures, the Free 2000 M setup aims to be a reliable companion without adding bulk.

A smarter, cooler light

Silva’s approach centers on delivering light where and when you need it. The headlamp features Silva Intelligent Light, a double-beam system that blends a long-reach spot with a close flood. The result is better beam control, improved balance, and reduced fatigue during dynamic activities. Cooling is built into the design as a core performance factor: an optimized aluminum cooler and ventilation aid brightness consistency even when pace, altitude, or weather shift demands on the run or ski track.

• Integrated cables in the headband reduce clutter and potential snag during activity.
• Silva Intelligent Light combines long reach with close-range flood for versatile visibility.
• Free Airflow cooling supports solid performance across activities and temperatures.

Modular, flexible, upgradeable

The Free line emphasizes modularity. You can detach the lamp head and battery from the headband to reposition on a helmet, a bicycle handlebar, or a frame, enabling a tailored setup for your day’s route. Interchangeable components simplify upgrades or adjustments on the go, keeping the setup clean and lightweight without sacrificing power.

• Interchangeable lamp head, battery, and mounting kits for custom configurations.
• Headband cables stay embedded, reducing distractions and snag risks.
• Helmet, bike bar, or frame mounting options extend where you can illuminate hands-free.

In practice, this combination supports running and cross-country skiing on technical terrain and in demanding conditions. You’ll encounter a bright, reliable beam at night, a capable support system for long sessions, and a design that prioritizes comfort and ease of use. As an ISPO Award winner, Silva emphasizes performance, innovation, and real-world utility in the Free series. The ultralight feel and modular versatility may translate to smoother navigation, quicker transitions, and fewer interruptions when the trail grows technical or the weather takes a turn.
