Description
Overview
The Slider CSG814 Crappie Grub is a 1-1/2-inch soft plastic lure featuring a vibra-tail that sways with every retrieve. The tail's subtle motion creates a lifelike flicker as the grub moves, while the green and yellow laminate finish catches light for added visibility across water colors and conditions.
Versatile rigging for crappie and more
Designed to pair with all Crappie Slider Heads, this grub also works well with other compatible jig heads. The flexible setup lets you tailor depth, action, and presentation to different spots—whether you’re fishing brush, weed edges, or open water. The concept dates back to the mid-1970s and remains a staple for crappie and panfish, with bass anglers occasionally taking notice of its classic profile.
Key benefits you may notice
- Vibra-tail action that moves with light retrieves, creating an attractive disturbance in the water.
- 1-1/2-inch body profile that targets forage-sized prey preferred by crappie and panfish.
- Laminate green and yellow finish that enhances visibility in varying light and water clarity.
Angling scenarios and tips
- Casting: use a steady or slightly rippling retrieve to emphasize tail thump as you cover shallow structure.
- Trolling: maintain contact with the bottom to keep the grub’s tail working through the water column.
- Vertical jigging: a slow, deliberate lift-and-drop can provoke bites from crappie around brush or pilings.
Practical notes: this grub pairs well with Crappie Slider Heads in multiple sizes, offering quick depth and action adjustments. It’s also a solid option for anglers who value a timeless lure design with modern color and a lively tail. Results vary by water conditions and location, but the combination of durable construction, flexible rigging, and proven performance makes it a versatile addition to a jigging toolkit.
