Solarez Fly Tie Thin Hard Formula — Quick UV-Cure Clear Coat

Overview

Solarez Fly Tie Thin Hard Formula is a clear, fast-curing coating designed for fly tiers who want a pristine, durable finish on delicate bodies. When exposed to UV light, it hardens quickly and forms a glassy, nearly invisible shell over your fly ties.

Why anglers choose this formula

The product uses a thin-hard formulation that delivers a shellac-like coat without adding bulk. The result is a clear layer that resists yellowing and stays durable under handling and moisture, helping your flies maintain their look in varied conditions.

• Cures in seconds when exposed to UV light
• Guaranteed tack-free finish when cured with Solarez UV Light
• Thin-hard formula for a delicate, shellac-like coat
• Low odor; no yellowing; hard and durable coating
• Made in the USA for consistent quality

Real-life use cases

Perfect for dry-fly wings, slender bodies, and wing projections where a nearly invisible topcoat is desirable. The low-profile finish helps preserve the fly’s silhouette while adding protection against moisture and repeated handling.

How to apply

• Apply a thin layer to the tied fly with a fine brush, avoiding excess buildup
• Expose to UV light or sunlight to cure; the surface becomes tack-free and clear
• Inspect the coating and apply additional thin coats if more hardness is needed

Notes

Made in the USA, this formula aims for reliable performance with a focus on user comfort, including a lower odor profile. Results can vary with technique and environment, so practice a small test coat on a spare tie first.
