Description
Overview
The Strike King KVD 4.0 Magnum Squarebill in Sexy Shad is a purpose-built shallow-water lure inspired by Bass Master Classic Champion Kevin VanDam. Its compact silhouette pairs with a distinct wandering action that stays true in tight, vegetation-rich zones. With no internal rattles, the bait offers a discreet, stealthy presentation as it interacts with cover, logs, and weed edges—perfect for anglers who chase quick strikes in clear or stained water.
Why this lure stands out
- Silent presentation: no internal rattles for a quieter, more natural lure track.
- Erratic, yet controlled action: the squarebill generates a wandering glide that draws curious bass without veering off course.
- Cover deflection: when the lure contacts structure, it deflects, increasing opportunities for strikes near obstruction.
- Shallow-water focus: designed for power fishing in bays, near docks, and along grass lines.
- Lifelike Sexy Shad color: a believable profile that performs under varying lighting conditions.
Field use and real-world scenarios
- Cast along docks, pilings, and submerged brush where bass tend to hide and ambush prey.
- Work edges of weed mats, lily pads, and shallow banks to provoke wandering strikes.
How to fish the KVD 4.0 Magnum Squarebill
- Cast toward likely cover and maintain a shallow retrieve near the surface.
- Use short, deliberate pulls to enhance the wandering action and encourage deflections.
- Mix speed and pauses to reveal the bass’s preferred path; adapt for wind and current.
