Overview

Elevate your nymphing with The Fly Fishing Place Double Bead Purple Psycho Prince Nymphs. This 6-pack features a bold purple body paired with dual beads, engineered to balance weight and flutter in the current. The result is a presentation that looks natural beneath the surface while offering confident depth control.

Why anglers reach for this pattern

Built for quick deep-water targeting, the double bead system helps the fly sink into mid to lower water columns where many juvenile aquatic insects dwell. The purple hue adds a subtle flash that can stand out in variable light, helping the pattern catch a trout’s eye without seeming unnatural.

  • Double bead construction enables deeper, faster subsurface reach
  • Purple color provides visible contrast in diverse water conditions
  • Versatile enough for trout, bass, and steelhead in the right rivers

Best uses and river conditions

Ideal on freestone rivers where stonefly nymphs are a common food source, this pattern mirrors the density and movement of natural prey. Its weight distribution supports steady drift and controlled negotiation of current seams, depths, and pockets.

  • Popular for freestone river nymphing sessions
  • Effective in swift runs and slower eddies alike

What you get in this 6-pack

  • Six double bead Psycho Prince Nymphs in size 12
  • Ready-to-rig nymphs that pair with standard leader setups
  • Durable construction designed for repeated casts and tough river conditions

Tips for best results

Experiment with drift timing and line tension to keep the bead profile close to the riverbed. Pair with a light strike indicator if you’re monitoring subtle takes, and adjust retrieve speed to water conditions and visibility.
