The Fly Fishing Place Tungsten Bead Head Black Copper John Nymph Flies – 6-Pack, Hook Size 14

Overview

The The Fly Fishing Place Tungsten Bead Head Black Copper John Nymph Flies arrive as a compact, ready-to-fly set for river fishing. These patterns are widely used by anglers and prized for their practical design and consistent performance in varying flows.

Why this nymph pattern is popular

Beaded Barr's Copper John patterns are known for their classic silhouette and attractive movement in the current. The tungsten bead head earns a quick-dive, enabling you to target deeper seams where trout are seeking emergers and nymphs.

• Bead: tungsten for quick settling into the water column.
• Profile: slim and durable for lengthy days on the water.

In freestone rivers, where nymphs are a staple food, these flies can be a robust tool. They work well in pools, seams, and slow runs, and can be effective across species, including trout, panfish, bass, and steelhead when appropriate. The 6-pack ensures you have multiple flies ready for different light or water conditions, or for rigging in a variety of setups.

How to fish them

Try fishing singly for a subtle presentation, or pair two or three flies on a rig to cover different depths. A dropper setup under a foam hopper adds a secondary target without overhauling your rig. The pattern's weight helps it reach the feeding zone quickly, even when currents are moderate.

Realistic expectations

As with any fly, results vary with conditions, water clarity, and catch timing. Use this nymph as a reliable baseline pattern that can adapt to many river scenarios, offering a practical option for anglers seeking consistent nymph imitation.
