TIEMCO 42170-2488 Bronze Hooks – Dry Fly & Nymph, 25 Pack

Overview

Meet the TIEMCO 42170-2488 bronze hooks, a thoughtfully redesigned option built for small patterns and micro sizing. The curved short shank paired with a straight-eye design creates a more open gape in the smaller sizes, helping you present delicate dries and nymphs with confidence. This hook isn’t just a straight-eye version of another model—it introduces true micro sizes to expand your tying options and real-world versatility.

Design and Versatility

The 42170-2488 uses fine bronze wire to maintain a slim profile without sacrificing strength. Its 3X wide gap and 2X short curved shank help you achieve secure hooks on tight, precise ties while keeping the overall profile compact for small patterns. The combination supports a broad range of tiny patterns, from classic dry fly styles to delicate nymph patterns.

• Dry Fly & Nymph patterns
• Straight eye for a more open gape in small sizes
• 3X Wide gap for easier hooking and reliable landings
• 2X Short curved shank for a balanced, compact tie
• Fine bronze wire for a delicate silhouette and durable performance

Practical Use and Benefits

Whether you’re tying micro patterns for finicky streams or crafting precise dries for late-season hatches, these hooks offer a versatile foundation. The true micro sizes introduced with this model enhance your ability to tilt presentations toward realism without overbuilding the ties. If you’re exploring patterns that demand a lighter touch, the 42170-2488 can help you achieve a natural look with a dependable hook point.

• Ideal for small size dry flies and nymph patterns
• Micro sizes add versatility for delicate presentations
• 2488H variant exists as a heavier-wire option for different applications (not recommended for Dry Flies)
