Description
Overview
The TIEMCO TMC 200R fly tying hook blends a straight-eye design with a 3X-long shank to help patterns imitate certain aquatic insects with balanced drift and a reliable profile. The sloping bend and semi-dropped point work together to support a clean, confident hookset when a fish takes hold.
Key design features
- Nymph & Dry Fly, Straight Eye
- 3X Long
- Standard wire
- Semi-dropped point
- Forged, Bronze
Hydration on the water: why it matters
In real-life angling, the interplay between shank length and point geometry influences how a pattern sits in current and how it penetrates when a strike occurs. The 3X-long shank helps maintain proportional presentation for insect imitation, while the semi-dropped point aims to improve hook-up potential as you set the hook. The bronze forged wire contributes a dependable feel in the vise and during play after a fish is hooked.
Practical use ideas:
- Attach bead heads or weighted tail sections to achieve a natural drift in flowing water.
- Tie dry-fly nymphs that balance weight and surface presentation with a clean, straight-eye alignment.
Durability and tying considerations
The forged bronze wire provides a sturdy, durable feel, while the straight-eye design supports neat, uniform wraps around the bend. This combination helps you build consistent patterns across a range of tying styles and fishing scenarios.
What you get
Each pack includes 25 hooks, designed for repeated use across a variety of nymph and dry-fly patterns. The overall geometry is intended to offer a practical balance of strength, control, and performance when tying and fishing.
