Overview
Meet the TIEMCO TMC Ceramic Bobbin Evo HD Straight, a contemporary update to a trusted tool used by fly tyers. Building on the long-running TMC ceramic bobbin lineage, this model prioritizes stability and control to deliver cleaner threadwork and neater wraps during tying sessions.
The Evo HD Straight combines a reliable ceramic tube with a high-rigidity arm and a refreshed bobbin holder. The result is smoother rotation and steadier thread tension, with less effort required to maintain even wraps across varied materials and densities.

Why it matters for fly tying
The ceramic tube and refined geometry work together to minimize interruptions in your workflow. Expect smoother thread flow, reduced risk of thread cuts, and more consistent wraps, even when moving quickly between sections of a pattern.
The new generation bobbin holder is designed to deliver less stress during long tying sessions, which can help you maintain focus and accuracy from head to tail of a fly. While the product does not guarantee results, many tyers appreciate the potential for steadier performance and a more enjoyable tying rhythm.
Real-world use and practical benefits
- On the workbench: steady thread control helps keep uniform tension across segments.
- In a field or fishing setup: smooth operation reduces interruptions when tying multiple flies per session.
