TIEMCO Umpqua TMC 2457 Hooks – Bronze Down-Eye, 2X Heavy, 2X Short (25 Pack, Size 16)

Overview

Introducing the TIEMCO Umpqua TMC 2457 hook, a curved 2X heavy wire design finished in bronze. Its down-eye and refined curvature support a wide range of modern emerger, shrimp, and egg-pattern ties. Built to withstand energetic takes, the hook aims to balance strength with precise hookups across various freshwater fisheries. While outcomes depend on conditions and technique, this hook offers a solid platform for productive presentations and reliable control during the fight.

Key design features

• Shrimp & Caddis pupa, Down Eye
• 2X Wide gape
• 2X Short shank
• 2X Heavy wire for extra strength
• Bronze finish for durability and camouflage

Construction and finish

The bronze coating minimizes glare and blends with a variety of water colors, while the 2X heavy wire adds tensile strength for larger or more aggressive strikes. The down-eye eyelet supports secure knotting with a range of tying materials, helping keep the fly sitting neatly in the water column.

Pattern ideas and real-world use

In real-world angling, this hook shines with patterns that imitate subsurface life. Its curved profile and wide gape aid strong hooksets on larger fish, while the short shank keeps the fly compact for delicate tying. Start with patterns designed to ride just beneath the surface or deeper with egg and emerger designs.

• Shrimp and caddis pupae imitations that glide just below the surface
• Glo bugs and other egg-pattern rigs for deeper presentation
• Emerger variations that rely on a quick, reliable hookset

Size, availability, and practical notes

Available as a 25-count pack in size 16, the TMC 2457 provides a practical balance between tying productivity and inventory. The bronze finish adds versatility across water conditions from clear springs to stained rivers, helping patterns read naturally under varying light.

Why anglers might choose the 2457

The blend of curved geometry, 2X heavy wire, and a down-eye profile creates a flexible platform for emerger and egg-pattern tying. While results depend on technique and local conditions, this hook is designed to support confident presentations and robust hooks during active feeding periods.
