Tortoise Gear FireAnt 3 Pack: Waterproof Fire Starter & Helix Tinder for Victorinox Knives (Green Glow)

Rugged, waterproof fire starting for your Victorinox knife

The FireAnt 3 Pack from Tortoise Gear is a compact, patented fire starter designed to fit into the corkscrew of modern Swiss Army knives. Paired with the included Helix Tinder, it becomes a complete, waterproof fire starting system that stays reliable in the field. The Green Glow variant adds a subtle nighttime visibility cue, helping you locate your knife when light is scarce. Built for outdoor use, it combines minimal bulk with practical performance, making it a versatile addition to camping gear, hiking kits, or emergency prep setups.

How FireAnt works with Helix Tinder

The FireAnt slides directly into the corkscrew of a Victorinox knife, so you can keep your tool ready without adding bulk. Helix Tinder is a wax impregnated waterproof fiber that can be cut or pulled apart to provide multiple fires from a single tinder strand. Together, they form a dependable ignition system that remains functional in wet conditions and under pressure, while still sparking with a user-friendly strike.

• Patented system fits into the Swiss Army Knife corkscrew
• Helix Tinder is waterproof, cuttable, and reusable for several fires
• Glow in the dark for easier night-time location of your knife
• 100% waterproof; tested to function after extended submersion
• Ultra-light design; about 1 gram per unit

Real-world benefits and use cases

Whether you’re camping, hiking, or preparing for the unexpected, this system offers practical fire-starting capability without adding bulk to your kit. The glow feature helps you reorient in low light, while the waterproof construction keeps performance possible after exposure to rain or damp environments. The lightweight design supports multi-day trips by letting you carry multiple ignition opportunities with minimal weight. For Victorinox users, the FireAnt integrates with modern corkscrews to maintain tool reliability while expanding what your knife can help you accomplish in outdoor settings.
