Description
Veevus Iridescent Thread Black Rainbow i01
Elevate your fly tying with this ultra thin iridescent thread from Veevus. The Black Rainbow color shifts as light plays across the surface, bringing a subtle, eye catching glow to ribbing and body wraps. The thread is designed to be barely noticeable in bulk, letting your materials take center stage while adding a touch of sparkle that helps patterns look alive in both bright sun and shaded water.
Feel and performance in hand
In hand, the thread feels smooth and silky, melting into wraps with minimal resistance. It holds its shape under typical tying tension and resists fraying when trimmed correctly. The sparkle does not overwhelm delicate materials, making it suitable for slender bodies and fine ribbing.
Key benefits
- Thin profile ideal for precise ribbing and clean body wraps
- Iridescent Black Rainbow finish that shifts with light for added pattern depth
- Strong but flexible, forgiving under standard tying tension
- Light reflective shine that enhances visibility of your pattern in water
Best use cases
- Ribbing over bodies to add segmentation and contrast
- Tying slender bodies or shanks where bulk is a concern
- Creating a subtle underbody shine that peeks through feather or hair materials
- Pairing with neutral hooks and natural fibers for realistic patterns
Tips for use and care: Wrap with controlled turns to avoid crowding, finish with a light whip to protect the shine, and store away from heat and direct sun to preserve color over time. This thread excels when combined with natural hackles, dubbing, or bright synthetics that benefit from a little reflective contrast.
Why Veevus stands out
Veevus is known for precise, dependable threads that perform consistently across a range of flies and conditions. The iridescent Black Rainbow color adds a subtle glow that can enhance pattern realism and attract attention under various lighting, without making bold claims about outcomes.
