Overview

Meet the Vexan Mag Super-D Swimbait, a purpose-built freshwater lure designed to entice a wide range of game fish. The 12" body, extending to 18" with tail, delivers a convincing live-bait silhouette with a lively curly tail that moves with natural realism when retrieved.

The visible appeal is enhanced by a holographic eye and bright finish that catches light in varied water conditions, helping predators take notice from different angles, depths, and currents. This is a lure built to perform in diverse setups—from clear lakes to stained reservoirs.

Key benefits

  • Realistic Swimbait Design with lifelike movements, curly tail action, and holographic eyes that mimic swimming prey.
  • Durable Build for big catches: hand-poured soft plastic, full-coil internal harness, and a reinforced jig head designed to withstand tough hits.
  • Optimized Hook Placement: dual muskie treble hooks plus a rear hook near the tail improve hookups on short strikes.
  • Versatile Performance: use as a crankbait, jerkbait, or jig with slow, medium, or fast retrieves along weed edges, around structure, or in open water.

Depth control and targeting strategy

The Mag Super-D counts down at roughly one foot per second, giving you a precise way to target different water columns. Whether you’re chasing deep-water holds, mid-level cruisers, or surface followers, this lure offers flexible options to explore varying depths.

Real-life use and expectations

In practice, anglers report a pronounced, lifelike wobble and a convincing tail kick that can prompt strikes in challenging conditions. The combination of action, bright eyes, and a natural presence near weed lines and structure helps the lure stand out without requiring aggressive retrieves.

Vexan is American-owned and Iowa-based, with premium materials and global sourcing designed to deliver durable fishing gear suitable for a wide range of anglers.

Ideal setups and target species

  • Target species include bass, musky, walleye, and crappie in freshwater habitats.
