Overview

Wapsi Strung Marabou, Peacock Blue, is a staple for serious fly tyers. This marabou blends soft, fluffy fibers with a vibrant Peacock Blue shade, offering a colorful option in a broad range that fuels creativity. Widely regarded as one of the most popular marabou choices, it delivers natural movement and subtle translucence that can elevate your patterns.

Key benefits

• Best fly tying marabou feathers: trusted for texture, flow, and consistent performance in the vise.
• Wide color range: Peacock Blue sits among a rich palette, helping you match water, lighting, and insects.
• Ready-to-tie strands: strung feathers provide easier handling and a clean presentation during tying.

Creative uses

Apply this marabou across a spectrum of patterns—from delicate dries that float with a hint of color to lively streamers that suggest life in the water. The fibers catch light and exhibit a natural shimmer, aiding visibility without overpowering the fly design.

• Trout and panfish dries: create soft silhouettes with a touch of Peacock Blue.
• Wet flies and nymphs: add body and motion that imply lifelike movement.
• Streamers and motion flies: the feather fibers pulse with current for added life.

Quality and handling

Designed for dependable performance, Wapsi marabou strands remain flexible and easy to manipulate in tying. To preserve bloom and prevent flattening, store in a dry, ventilated container and avoid crushing. A light preen before tying can help maximize movement once in the water.

Buying tips

• Choose Peacock Blue for high visibility against darker waters and for strong color contrast in variable light.
• Pair with complementary hackles and flash to broaden the fly profile without dulling the color.
