Overview

Yamashita Egi Oh Search 077 Olive Ash No. 2.5 delivers a compelling lure that blends light and sound with a responsive body shape designed to catch the eye and provoke interest from squid in varied conditions.

Why this lure stands out

Powered by a combination of light and rattling sound, this model uses strobofin crafted action to produce a flattening motion that draws attention from curious targets. The wide, reflective sides help the lure catch ambient light, improving visibility as you search through water layers.

The rattle is designed with ecological research in mind, intended to be audible to squid and help you detect targets across a broad area.

  • Color: 077/Olive Ash
  • Size: No. 2.5
  • Weight: 0.4 oz (12 g)
  • Total length (needle grip): 3.1 inches (79 mm)
  • Sinking speed: approx 3.6 seconds per meter

How it works on the water

The rattle is designed to be audible enough to signal presence to curious squid while the light draws interest from a distance. This combination helps you search a broad area with more confidence during daylight and low light times.

Real world use cases

  • Early morning or dusk sessions where light levels vary
  • Deeper water where a steady sinking motion helps maintain depth
  • Areas with a mix of cover and open water to maximize visibility

Pro tips

  • Start with a moderate retrieved pace and adjust to depth and current
  • Keep the lure near the strike zone where squid feedback tends to occur
