Description
Overview
The YAMASHITA Squid Fishing Pro Sabiki P5 14-1 is a purpose-built, seven-piece rig designed for anglers targeting squid in coastal waters. Developed around the popular PickaPika Needle concept, this setup blends visibility with stability for confident casting and jigging during day or night sessions.
Key Specifications and Attractants
- Branches: 3.9 inches (10 cm)
- Trunk: 47.2 inches (120 cm)
- Total Length: 39.8 ft (9.6 m)
- Ikasabiki uses Pika Needle 5 14-1 and 18-1 to create a trihedral glow that draws attention from squid
- Standard trunk and branches are designed for high stability in popular fishing grounds like Tokyo Bay and Sagami Bay; outer tubes use large Yaraika components for durability
Why This Rig Stands Out
- Attractant core: Pika Needle 5 14-1 and 18-1 components enhance visibility with a multi-angle glow
- Long reach: the substantial trunk length helps you cover more water and find squid in varying depths
- Solid construction: a stable trunk and branch layout supports steady line handling in bays and near structures
- Versatile kit: a 7-piece set is adaptable to different squid species and environmental conditions
On-Water Use and Real-Life Scenarios
Imagine casting along pilings, weed edges, or drop-offs at dawn or dusk. With a deliberate, gentle jig and mindful depth adjustments, the Pro Sabiki can help you explore multiple depths in search of feeding zones. The trihedral lure effect, combined with the long rig, offers potential visibility from several angles, which can be advantageous in murky or choppy water.
Care, Setup Tips, and Durability
After saltwater use, rinse the rig with fresh water and dry thoroughly to preserve the knots and connectors. When setting up, ensure the trunk remains straight and the branches are evenly spaced to maintain stability in variable tidal conditions. Store in a dry, breathable bag to minimize corrosion risks over time.
In the Box
The set comprises seven well-matched pieces designed to work as a complete rig for squid targeting, with lengths and components chosen to balance reach, attraction, and control across common coastal fishing grounds.
